4 1/5 tasks down... 25 4/5 to go!
Each time I complete something on the list I will update with pictures (hopefully) and tell you about the experience. Thus far, I can mark off the list: learn to snowboard, giving blood, learning to ride a motorcycle, trying out for a game show and I have given one of my letters of influence.
Here is a recap:
Learn to Snowboard--
This idea was a lot more fun in my head then when we actually did it. Snowboarding was actually the first task on my list that I completed. Todd and I go skiing each year and this year we (I) decided we should take up snowboarding. It looks so easy on TV. I am not going to lie to you, IT SUCKS!!! I think Todd said it best, “after the first day you feel like you just played a tackle football game and lost.” At least it was the first thing on my list and now it is done.
Giving Blood--
I hate needles!!! I went with Casey from my office and Todd to give blood one Sunday afternoon. Casey and Todd have both given blood many times. I was really nervous and did I mention I hate needles. Everyone at the Charter Blood Care bus was so nice and understanding. I kept asking questions and they were very patient with me. Giving blood was one of the easiest things I have ever done. I was shocked at how easy it was even for a wimp like me. It truly is one of the easiest ways to help someone in need. I have started encouraging everyone I know to give blood. If a wimp like me can do and anyone can and should. This was so much easier than learning to snowboard!
Write 5 people who have made a Difference in My Life--
First one down and four to go. My first letter was given to a dear, dear man, Larry . He likes to refer to himself as Uncle Larry. He has some big job and just transferred back to Detroit. Larry always says, 'at the end of the day, I am just a car salesman.' Well, if that is true then I can tell you I would love to be a car salesman. Thanks, Larry for being so supportive and showing me that you can stay true to yourself and be successful.
Learn to Ride a Motorcycle--
This was by far the most dangerous things on my list. As I mentioned my brother, Guy, said he would teach me how to ride a motorcycle. At the time, it sounded like a great idea. He just got a nice new Triumph Motorcycle it is blue, red and white. So, when I called in the first of March and said, I am ready to learn I think he was hoping I had forgotten. Being the typical big brother, I really think he was more worried about the bike than me. Also, Todd told him if I got hurt he was going to leave me with him and wasn’t going to take care of me. I actually wasn’t scared at all; Guy had explained everything to me and started me out slow. Guy was very patient with me and was a great teacher. I never knew he could be so patient; after all I am the little sister. After trips up and down his driveway, it was time for me to move onto a bigger area…a church parking lot. Other than a small burn on the back of my leg, the bike and I made it through just fine.
Try out for a Game Show--
Big Bucks no Wammy!!! Yes, it is true, I have always wanted to try out for a game show. On March 18, 2006, I made this dream a reality when Ian, Mindy (my sister-in-law) and I tried out for VH1’s Pop Culture Trivia. It was really fun and interesting but I can’t talk about it until the show debuts this summer. More details for follow.
There will be a new post on Sunday!!! Tomorrow is the big McDonalds Birthday Party!!!
Thanks for reading -Cbs

Hey girl, Jarett taught me how to ride and it is not easy at all by our age. Way to go!!! Church parking lots must be a good teaching site b/c it was mine as well. But be sure to give it up and just ride on the back for long term. I did. Experience is everything in staying alive and I can not devote enough time to riding to become 1/2 the rider Jarett is. Keep it up.
